Maintenance Contribution Fund

Limpsfield Infant School is a Voluntary Aided (VA) Church school.   Our VA status means that the governors are allowed some flexibility in deciding how best to support the provision of a safe and stimulating environment in which your children can learn and develop.  It also means that governors are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the school buildings and infrastructure.  The school buildings are held in trust by the Diocese of Southwark and, as such, the school does not receive funding for capital projects directly from Surrey County Council.  Being a Church School however, means we are able to access funding from the Diocese providing we contribute 10% of the cost of any capital project.

You will appreciate much of our beautiful school is over 100 years old and the demands made upon it by 180 energetic children, plus staff, means there is a constant requirement for improvement and repairs to provide not only the best learning environment possible, but to keep in line with current legislation.  The facilities currently enjoyed by the school are a direct result of the generous donations of past and present parents whose contributions have enabled the school to access the Diocesan funding.

In order to meet the 10% cost contribution, each year the governors ask parents for a voluntary contribution of £42 per child, towards the Governors Fund.  This fund is vital in enabling us to continue upgrading the school facilities.  In return the Governors aim to keep the contribution as low as possible, whilst maintaining the exceptionally high standards that the school achieves, and will provide an annual update on how the money has been spent.

We are extremely grateful to all those parents who already support us.  Please understand these contributions are voluntary and no parent is obliged to make them. Equally, the amount requested is a guideline and any donation you can afford, either higher or lower, is gratefully received.

Payments can be made by cash or cheque, payable to Limpsfield C. E. Infant School and should be sent to the school office.  If you are a UK tax payer please also consider gift aiding your contribution to allow us to reclaim the tax.

May we take this opportunity to express our thanks and appreciation in advance, for your support in helping maintain Limpsfield for all our children.
