Forest School is an inspirational process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to explore and experience the natural world through practical activities in the outdoors which will in return help promote confidence, independence and self-esteem. By using the natural resources available in the wood and the children’s interests we hope to stimulate their imagination, creativity and enquiry skills.

Forest School is a specialised learning approach that sits within and compliments the wider context of outdoor and woodland education. It provides a safe, outdoor ‘classroom’ supervised by trained Forest School leaders where the children are encouraged to explore all aspects of the natural world. Children learn best from first hand experiences. Exploring, playing and learning using a range of activities, both designed by the leaders and instigated by the children themselves, with health and safety considerations always being paramount. The children will visit the site regularly throughout the year and in all weather! Our area is Grub St Wood which is located near the community orchard.
