Pupil Absence

We are always interested in the children's welfare and it is important in the case of absences, that the school

should be notified on the first day of absence by 9.30am.  If e-mailing or leaving a message on the answerphone, please

give full details of the reason for absence.  Children who are sick at home or at school should not return to school until

48 hours after the last bout of sickness or diarrhoea.

Please also notify us, if your child will be coming to school late and requires a lunch.  Numbers for lunch are required daily

before 9.30 a.m.

For planned absences please notify in the school in writing, e.g. dental, medical appointment or any visit to another school.

If the parent wishes to remove a child during the day the child should be collected and returned to the school office and

signing in and out book completed as appropriate.

Time away from school in term time are rarely authorised and then only in very special circumstances because they are

disruptive to both the child taking the holiday, the teacher and the class.  However, if you think it is absolutely necessary,

please can you contact the school office to make an appointment with Mrs Hudson.

Please refer to the Attendance Policy under key policies for further information on Penalty Notices which may

be imposed by the Education Welfare Service.
