British Council- Connecting Partnerships

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning is an international programme supporting teaching and learning about global issues. It is funded by the UK Government and delivered by the British Council and partners.

The programme supports schools internationally, and in the UK, to learn about and collaborate on the big issues that face the world. It supports teachers to bring global learning themes, centered on the Sustainable Development Goals, into their classrooms, and encourages pupils to interact and learn with their peers in other countries.

Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning strengthens the knowledge, skills and attitudes pupils need for life in today’s world, encouraging them to make a positive contribution in their local community and the wider world.

We are very excited that we have been successful in our funding application to work with other local schools to develop an international partnership and build global connections with schools in Pakistan.

Our partner school in Pakistan is the Nasra Public School and we are very excited about having the opportunity to collaborate with them on some exciting projects and learn about their school.

Our first project is all about playing well and how this then supports our learning. We will find out if the children play similar games in their break and lunchtimes and share and teach each other the games that we play.

Fostering an international dimension in our curriculum supports the children in gaining the cultural understanding and skills they need to live and work as global citizens.
